Frequently asked questions

If you didn’t provide your payment details when taking the trial, click Renew now in the F‑Secure app to start the shopping cart process. You can also log in to your My F‑Secure account and click Buy now in the top-right corner.

If you provided your payment details when signing up for the trial, the subscription will renew automatically after the trial period and you will be charged from the payment method you provided.

My F‑Secure is the subscription management portal for your F‑Secure products. From your F‑Secure account, you have an overview of and can manage all the devices that are protected under your F‑Secure subscription. With an F‑Secure account, you can adapt the security to your individual needs such as add or remove devices, see prices or subscription options, and purchase other products. You can also manage your email address and payment methods here.

You need to create an F‑Secure account to install and start protecting your devices. It’s super easy! Additionally, an F‑Secure account is the center for managing your product subscription. If you haven't purchased yet, you can create an F-Secure account to try and evaluate our award-winning products. No obligation to buy the products after the trial period ends.

If you need more licenses for your F‑Secure subscription, you can follow these guidelines:

  1. In the F-Secure app, click “Subscription” and “Buy more”. Alternatively, you can also log in to My F‑Secure with your account username and password and click the "Buy more" or "Renew now" button.

  2. A shopping cart opens where you can modify the number of devices.

  3. Follow the instructions in the shopping cart and purchase.

  4. Once your payment is received, a confirmation email is sent to you, and the additional licenses are added to your F‑Secure account.

Here's how to change your email address for your account:

  1. Log in to My F‑Secure.

  2. Open the main menu in the top right corner.

  3. Select “Account”.

  4. Scroll down to the field “Your F-Secure email address” and update your email address.

  5. Finally, click “Save changes”.

If you haven’t switched to the automatic renewal, click Renew in the F‑Secure app to start renewal process. You can also log in to your F‑Secure account and click Renew now. If you have switched to automatic renewal, then your subscription will renew automatically until your payment method expires. We will send you automatic notifications before the automatic renewal happens. If you wish to cancel the automatic renewal, you can do so from your subscription options in My F‑Secure, from the Subscription menu.

Simply log in to My F‑Secure and click the Buy more button to increase the number of devices. If you want to add more devices at the same time that you renew your subscription, you can instead click the Renew now button.

If you currently renew your subscription manually, you can switch to auto-renewal.

Prerequisite: Note that your payment method must be first set to credit card, PayPal or SEPA direct debit.

Here’s how:

  1. Log in to My F‑Secure to manage your F‑Secure account.

  2. Click the “Subscription” menu.

  3. In the “Manage your subscription” section, select “I want to switch to auto-renewal” from the drop-down menu.

  4. Click the “Switch to auto-renewal” button to confirm.
    Your subscription will now renew automatically.

To change your payment method, here’s how:

  1. Log in to My F‑Secure to manage your F‑Secure account.

  2. Click the “Subscription” menu.

  3. In the "Billing details" section, click the “Change payment method” button. 

  4. Fill in the details for the new payment method and click “Continue”.

  5. Finally, click “Update your subscription” to confirm.

Cancel your subscription at least 2 days before expiration date to avoid being charged.

If you have an automatically renewing subscription, you can cancel your subscription by logging in to My F‑Secure and clicking the Subscription menu. Under the Manage your subscription section, select I want to cancel auto-renewal and click on Cancel your subscription. This will cancel any upcoming renewals.

If you have opted to renew your subscription manually, the subscription will be automatically cancelled if you do not manually initiate the renewal before the expiry date.

If you are unsure of what renewal type you have, you can find that information by logging in to My F‑Secure, clicking the Subscription button and looking for Renewal.

You can easily adjust the number of devices in your F‑Secure subscription starting 45 days before your renewal date. This convenient window allows you to tailor your subscription to your current needs before your next billing cycle begins.

The legacy version of Internet Security (purchased before February 14, 2023) is no longer for sale, and existing users can upgrade to F-Secure Total instead. However, if you purchased Internet Security after February 14, 2023, you can renew your subscription by logging in to your F‑Secure account.
